Policy: A Medical Assistant performs duties in a clinic, hospital or Doctor’s office under the supervision of a physician.

Qualifications:

1. Certificate or diploma for Medical Assistant
2. 2. 6 months experience as a Medical Assistant
3. 3. 2 work references
4. 4. Satisfactory score on a qualifying exam.
5. 5. Current CPR qualification.

Duties and Responsibilities
Perform all administrative and clerical duties assigned including but not limited to:

1. schedule and monitor appointments
2. b. prepare and maintain medical records
3. perform medical transcription
4. serve as a liaison between physician and others
5.  assist physician with examinations and treatments
6. screen and follow up patient test results
7. prepare and administer medications as directed by physician
8. collect and process specimens
9. document accurately
10. participate in 4 hours inservice per calendar year
11. abide by ABC Health Care, Inc. policies
12. I understand I will not be paid for my orientation at a facility until have worked 40 hours at that facility. All orientation is paid at the orientation rate.
